Back links are the links which are called the inbound links (IBL’s) or the inward links. The greater the number of back links is the greater the popularity of your website. It simply indicates the popularity and importance of your website. Back links are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality back links, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query. When the search engines are calculating the importance and popularity of a specific website to a keyword then they consider the number of quality inbound links to that site. So you should not be happy that you have got some inbound links but you have to judge the quality of the links that you have got.
